Ski Rossendale Likely To Be Sold
One of the UK’s leading artificial surface slope centres Ski Rossendale in Lancashire looks likely to be sold after consultants employed to look at the best way forward for the loss-making local government owned facility made that recommendation.
The local council had already identified the need to spend £10million on the facility to upgrade it but the study by KKP Consultants said the centres future was being impacted by the recently opened Chill Factore indoor snow facility in Manchester.
Four companies were reported to be interested in taking over operation of the facility and endeavouring to increase its draw to a wider geographic region. All have submitted plans for a complete re-design and refit of the slope. One has suggested they would also develop a small indoor snow facility for teaching and children’s parties along with an outdoor artificial snow slope and fun park.
