World famous Ski Dubai has announced that visitors will have the chance to camp out on the snow overnight.
The new experience launches this Friday, July 29th, and will be available every Friday night at a cost of 750 dirhams ($204) for two people. A maximum of 30 people can take part each week. The camping package includes after-hours access to the slopes (including private access to the ski slopes for snowsports from 10pm to midnight, and use of the indoor zip wire) with refreshments including hot chocolate then before bedding down for the night in tents and sleeping bags on the indoor snow. Breakfast is then served in an adjacent Alpine-themed cafe.
The new opportunity has been launched after a ’test camp’ by volunteer journalists and similar media people a few months ago which we reported on last month.
They reported that not many people managed to make it through the night in their tents, but that they were not so much put off sleeping by the -4 Degree Celcius temperatures (about 45 degrees colder than outdoor daytime temperatures can reach) as the noise of the snowmaking machinery working through the night.
