More information on Africa’s first indoor snow centre, Ski Egypt, is gradually coming to light.
Built by the Majid Al Futtaim group (the company which built Ski Dubai which opened in 2005), and located within the Mall of Egypt in 6th of October City, close to the capital, Ski Egypt officially opened on March 5th this year.
Ski Egypt cost around 1.2 billion Egyptian Pounds to build, part of a 6.3 billion Egyptian Pounds spend on the entire mall. The snow centre has a 13,200 square metre footprint and can accommodate 1,200 guests at the same time.
Ski Egypt has four ski slopes of varying levels of difficulty, the longest of which is 210 meters (around half that of Ski Dubai).

The park area spans 7,700 square metres. Attractions include a Polar Express Train, Mountain Thriller, Zorb Ball, and Tube Run.
Ski Egypt features a ski school with highly trained and qualified instructors for beginners, intermediate, and advanced levels. In addition, all staff are highly qualified and multi-lingual, enabling them to interact with tourists.
Ski Egypt is an environmentally friendly project, the Majid Al Futtaim group said in a statement, that adheres to strict standards to protect the environment. It also uses the latest technology to reduce energy consumption and increase water recycling.
Ski Egypt uses the latest and best global security and safety measures to ensure the safety of all guests and staff, the company statement added.
